Becoming a patient
You can do almost all of it from your phone. Here's how it works.
Is Rivercross right for you?
Rivercross is a good fit if you want to be an active partner in your health. You don't need to be fit or have healthy habits already. You just need to want to work on them with us, at your own pace.
We care for teenagers (13 and older) and adults. For younger children, we'll gladly recommend a pediatrician.

Four steps
-
1
Check your insurance
See whether we're in network with your plan. Not sure which plan you have? Ask the assistant, or call and we'll look it up with you.
See plans we accept → -
2
Book your first visit
Choose "New patient visit". First visits are longer, about [length] minutes, so Dr. Ferizaj can go over your history.
-
3
Complete your new-patient forms
Right after you book or request a visit, we text and email you a secure link from our health record system. There are three short forms, each sent at the right time:
- Getting to know you (about 5 minutes), right away: your goals and daily habits.
- Health history and agreement (about 10 minutes), before your first visit: conditions, medicines and allergies, the Care Partnership Agreement, and photos of your insurance card and ID.
- Visit check-in (about 2 minutes), a few days before each appointment: the reason for your visit and any changes.
Each form is finished in one sitting. Prefer the phone? Call us, or answer with our phone assistant. Interpreter and accessibility help is available.

Come in for your visit
Arrive 10 minutes early and bring your insurance card, ID and medicine bottles. You'll check in at the front desk, have your vital signs taken, then see Dr. Ferizaj. If you signed the records release in your pre-check, we'll already have asked your last doctor for your records.
Our medication policies
- We prescribe medications when they're the best option, and we always pair them with a plan for the habits that affect your condition.
- We don't take over long-term opioid or benzodiazepine prescribing. If you need this, we'll help connect you with a pain or psychiatry specialist.
- GLP-1 weight-loss medications are prescribed within our weight management program, with regular follow-up visits.
Common questions
Is the assistant a real person?
No, it's an AI. It books visits, checks insurance and takes messages. It doesn't diagnose or give medical advice, and Dr. Ferizaj reviews what you tell it. Ask for a person any time during office hours.
Is my information private?
Yes. Your photos, forms and messages go into our secure health record system, never through this website. Every company that handles them is bound by HIPAA.
Who do you care for?
Teenagers 13 and older and adults. For younger children, we'll gladly recommend a pediatrician.
Can I keep my specialists?
Yes. We work with your specialists and send referrals when you need one.
What if I need care after hours?
Call or text our number. The assistant answers 24/7 and passes urgent concerns on. For emergencies, call 911.
Do you draw blood in the office?
Not yet. We order your lab work and you get it drawn at a nearby lab. Results come back to us and to your portal.
